Registered Nurse (RN) – Med Surg / Telemetry / Progressive Care Unit (PCU)

Key Responsibilities

• Contribute professional and clinical nursing knowledge and skills in the provision and management of patient care as a member of the interdisciplinary team
• Manage and monitor patients requiring intermediate/progressive care, including those on vasoactive and cardiac drip infusions with titration
• Perform and manage advanced clinical procedures including chest tubes, femstops, trachs, continuous bladder irrigations (CBIs), drains, and central lines
• Administer and titrate medications including Amiodarone, Cardizem, Nitro, Insulin, Heparin, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Isuprel, Milrinone, and Argatroban
• Document patient care accurately using EPIC EMR
• Float within the same discipline across local campuses as needed

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience in Med Surg, Telemetry, or Progressive Care
• Active Illinois RN state license required; Iowa RN state license required upon offer
• BLS certification (American Heart Association)
• ACLS certification (American Heart Association)
• Demonstrated competency with chest tubes, femstops, trachs, CBIs, drains, and central lines
• Experience administering and titrating vasoactive and cardiac drip medications

Preferred Experience / Skills

• At least one prior travel nursing contract completed
• Experience working in a Level 1 Trauma Center environment
• Familiarity with EPIC EMR
