The Director is also responsible for maintaining high standards in service, food preparation, food presentation, resident relations, cost control, personnel, safety, sanitation, training, and special functions. The Director assists in the maintenance of sound inter-departmental relations and the integration of the Culinary Services Department with the GCV community plan of operations.Essential Job Duties:* Assigns, schedules, trains, and oversees work of the kitchen, utility, and server personnel; conducts regularly- scheduled production and other staff meetings.* Purchases and maintains inventories for food and non-food items within approved budget.* Maintains records for food preparation system, recipes, inventory, storerooms, and other areas such as Culinary Services offices.* Assures compliance with federal, state and local standards for sanitation, food preparation, food storage, hygiene, and health standards of personnel.* Circulates in the dining areas during meal service times to field comments pertaining to service and food quality.* Adheres to Hospitality Promises;* We greet residents, employees and guests warmly, by name and with a smile.* We treat everyone with courteous respect.* We strive to anticipate resident, employee and guest needs and act accordingly.* We listen and respond enthusiastically in a timely manner.* We hold ourselves and one another accountable.* We embrace and value our differences.* We make residents, employees and guests feel important.* We ask "Is there anything else I can do for you?"* We maintain high levels of professionalism, both in conduct and appearance, at all times.* We pay attention to details.
