Amputee Physical Therapist (PT), Day Shift, Outpatient Rehabilitation

Position Overview Adventist HealthCare Rockville Rehab seeks to hire an experienced Amputee Physical Therapist for our Outpatient Rehabilitation who will embrace our mission to extend God’s care through the ministry of physical, mental, and spiritual healing. Responsibilities Perform an initial examination and evaluation to establish a impairment/diagnosis, prognosis and plan of care prior to intervention for all persons served with basic rehabilitation needs in acute care, outpatient or inpatient rehabilitation settings (flexes to any Rehab site as needed). Provide, or direct and supervise, the therapy intervention consistent with the results of the examination, evaluation, diagnosis, prognosis, and plan of care. Involve the patient/client and appropriate others in the planning, implementation, and assessment of the plan of care. Re-examine the patient/client as necessary during an episode of care to evaluate progress or change in patient/client status and modify the plan accordingly or discontinue services. In consultation with appropriate disciplines, plan for discharge of the patient/client taking into consideration achievement of anticipated goals and expected outcomes, and provide for appropriate follow‑up or referral. Discontinue intervention when the patient/client is unable to progress toward goals or when it is determined they will no longer benefit from therapy. Communicate, coordinate, and document all aspects of patient/client management including results of the examination and evaluation, diagnosis, prognosis, plan of care, interventions, response to interventions, barriers to progress, changes in status, re‑examination, and discharge or discontinuation, and share with the care team as indicated. Supervise and direct the patient care activities of assigned rehab aides, office assistants, and volunteers. Manage schedule to accommodate range in census and patient load and inform management of any caseload issues. Attend team meetings and effectively communicate patient status, using the medical record or other treating therapists to ensure sufficient knowledge of the case. Be responsible for individual professional development activities. Educate and provide consultation to consumers, healthcare professionals, students, and the public regarding the purposes and benefits of therapy. Qualifications Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctoral in Physical Therapy from an accredited program. Preferred: 1 year of site‑specific experience. Active Maryland license. Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. Work Schedule Employment Type: Full‑time Hours per Week: 40 hours Typical Daily Schedule: Monday – Friday, including two evenings. Shift Type: Day/Evening Shift Differential Eligible: No Compensation Pay Range: $34.58 – $51.87 per hour Under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA): This position is classified as United States of America (Non‑Exempt).
