DEB Construction, certified as a Great Place to Work® is seeking an Estimator with experience in Tenant Improvements and Ground Up Construction.

The Junior Estimator supports DEB Construction's preconstruction and estimating efforts by assisting with quantity takeoffs, scope analysis, subcontractor coordination, and proposal development for commercial construction projects, in the Healthcare, Financial, and Critical Facilities markets. This role exercises independent judgment on assigned tasks while working under the guidance of the Preconstruction Manager and in coordination with the Senior Estimator and Estimator.

The Junior Estimator works under the direction of the Estimator and provides support during pursuits, proposal development, and client presentations, and works cross-functionally with project teams to support a smooth transition from preconstruction to project execution. This position is intended for developing estimators who demonstrate strong technical aptitude, organization, and professional growth potential within DEB Construction's estimating ladder.

• Assist with quantity takeoffs and development of trade-level cost estimates for assigned projects.
• Support estimating and preconstruction efforts under the direction of the Preconstruction Manager and Senior Estimator.
• Obtain, review, and organize construction documents, including drawings, specifications, and addenda.
• Assist in analyzing construction documents to identify scope requirements, constructability considerations, and potential cost impacts.
• Support development and issuance of pre-bid RFIs in coordination with subcontractors, consultants, and the project team.
• Assist in developing detailed multi-trade quantity takeoffs to help define scopes of work, support benchmarking of subcontractor proposals, and contribute to internal cost models when external pricing is incomplete or unavailable.
• Assist with subcontractor outreach, follow-up, and proposal evaluation.
• Participate in bid reviews and internal estimate review meetings to develop understanding of scope, assumptions, and pricing.
• Support preparation of value engineering options and cost optimization strategies.
• Collaborate with the Business Development Manager and Marketing/Proposal Coordinator during pursuits, proposal development, and client presentations.
• Coordinate with project management teams to support a smooth transition from preconstruction to project execution.
• Maintain organized, accurate, and audit-quality estimating documentation in accordance with DEB procedures.

• 1+ year of commercial construction estimating experience or related preconstruction experience.
• Foundational ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and MEP construction documents.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.
• Associate's degree in a construction-related field or equivalent experience preferred.
• Must be proficient in or capable of quickly learning Autodesk Construction Cloud, BidMail, Bluebeam, Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, Project), OST, PlanSwift, AI-assisted estimating software, or equivalent.

Requires work indoors and outdoors in office and/or job/construction sites. Requires visiting job/construction sites in a personal vehicle. You must wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required, including boots, hard hat, safety vest, safety glasses, and hearing protection. Must physically inspect job/construction sites, which may include non-ADA compliant surfaces, tight spaces, elevations, rooftops, or uneven terrain. Must be able to climb ladders and scaffolding to access work areas. May be exposed to hazards associated with construction sites, loud environments, hazardous equipment, and varying weather conditions.
