The functions and duties of the Restorative Nursing Assistant include but are not limited to the following:

• Restorative Nursing Assistant (RNA) in the Community Living Center (CLC).
• RNA assists with maintaining independence in functional mobility and activities of daily living, and to prevent a decline in function. This concept actively focuses on achieving and maintaining optimal physical, mental, and psychosocial functioning.
• Provide complex nursing care independently as a member of the nursing team by assisting higher grades NAs, licensed nursing staff, and other members of the care team.
• RNA may perform these duties in a variety of health care settings such as outpatient, inpatient, home or community living care, acute, sub-acute.
• RNA will care for patients/residents with acute to chronic conditions.
• Utilize observation skills for data collection, reporting and recording.
• Participate in patient centered conferences/shift reports and contribute information for the development and review of the nursing care plan.
• Maintain a therapeutic environment for patients according to established procedures and policies by reporting actual or potential accidents, fire hazards and faculty equipment.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Nurse Manager or designee.
• Responsible for participating within unit based and/or organizational level Shared Governance councils, utilizing clinical expertise, evidence-based practice, and knowledge to assist with finding solutions to problems or issues to improve the quality care provided to our veterans.

Work Schedule: 9:00am - 5:30pm with rotating weekends
