Position Title: Entry-Level House Manager
Reports To: Program Director / Senior House Manager
Location: Recovery House for Adults
Employment Type: Full-Time / Part-Time (as applicable)

Position Summary

The Entry-Level House Manager is responsible for supporting the daily operations of the recovery house, ensuring a safe, structured, and supportive living environment for adult residents in recovery. This role provides supervision, guidance, and basic administrative support while promoting accountability, respect, and adherence to house policies.

Key Responsibilities

• Resident Support & Supervision

  • Monitor resident activities to ensure compliance with house rules and program guidelines.

  • Conduct regular walk-throughs of the property to maintain safety and order.

  • Provide basic conflict resolution and escalate concerns to the Program Director as needed.

  • Encourage positive peer interactions and community living standards.

• House Operations

  • Assist with resident check-in/check-out processes and maintain accurate logs.

  • Oversee chore assignments, curfew compliance, and participation in recovery-related activities.

  • Report maintenance or safety issues to the appropriate personnel.

  • Conduct random room and common area inspections to ensure cleanliness and safety.

• Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate daily shift logs, incident reports, and attendance records.

  • Assist with tracking resident progress and compliance with program requirements.

  • Communicate observations and concerns to supervisors in a timely manner.

• Safety & Emergency Response

  • Respond calmly and effectively to emergencies, following established protocols.

  • Enforce safety procedures and house security (including visitor management).

  • Ensure residents are aware of emergency exits, safety rules, and expectations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.

• Previous experience in recovery support, peer mentorship, or residential services preferred but not required.

• Knowledge of substance use recovery and willingness to learn best practices.

• Strong interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills.

• Ability to maintain professional boundaries and uphold confidentiality.

• Must be dependable, organized, and able to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Physical & Work Environment Requirements

• Ability to walk, stand, and move throughout the property during shifts.

• May require light lifting (up to 25 lbs).

• Work is performed in a residential group living environment.
