Summary of the roleAs a Senior Mechanical Engineering Designer supporting our Architecture and Engineering business unit, you will be responsible for designing and drafting mechanical engineering projects under the guidance of Mechanical Engineers/Project Managers. The scope of design will include HVAC, plumbing/piping, refrigeration, fire protection, and fuel systems. As part of a multi-disciplined firm, you will coordinate with Site/Civil Engineers, Electrical Engineers, Structural Engineers, Architects, and Construction Project Managers. You will be responsible for the production of mechanical engineering construction documents while adhering to client requirements, code requirements, and site adjustments.ResponsibilitiesAssist with design tasks and reports under the direction of Project Engineers and Project Managers.Conduct site feasibility research and site visit investigations as well as generate reports/recommendations based on findings.Assist in maintaining task budgets.Coordinate and assist with addenda, RFI's and change orders.Assist in coordinating the work of a multi-disciplined team throughout the design development and contract document phases of a project.Assist senior staff with the project approval process.Other related responsibilities as necessary to fulfill the objectives of this role.QualificationsWe’re looking for talented professionals who are eager to grow their skills and contribute to high-quality, meaningful work. The following qualifications will help you succeed in this role: Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering3+ years of experience with general building mechanical design production, preferably with commercial projects such as retail, restaurants, grocery, financial, and/or convenience stores.EIT preferred, not required.Revit, MS Office required, AutoCAD a plusDemonstrated ability and willingness to identify practical uses for company-approved AI tools to improve team processes, support better decisions, and increase efficiencyDemonstrated ability to review AI-generated content for accuracy, protect confidential information, and remain responsible for the final work productWork LocationThis is a remote or hybrid (1 or 2 days a week in the office) position based out of the following Core States Group offices: Bentonville, AR, Frisco, TX, or Somerville, NJ.
