Job Title: Superintendent, Civil Infrastructure

Employment Type: Full Time     

Location: Goldsboro, NC    

Pay: $ DOE per year  

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7am-5pm 

Job Summary:          

The Civil Infrastructure Superintendent is responsible for the day-to-day field management and execution of civil infrastructure construction projects. The Superintendent provides leadership and direction to field crews, subcontractors, and vendors while ensuring work is performed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and in accordance with project plans, specifications, quality standards, and contract requirements.

Key Responsibilities: 

·  Lead and manage daily field construction operations from mobilization through project completion and closeout.

·  Plan and coordinate manpower, equipment, materials, subcontractors, and work activities to maintain project schedules and production goals.

·  Interpret and implement construction drawings, specifications, schedules, and contract requirements.

·  Direct field crews and subcontractors, establish daily priorities, and monitor productivity and workmanship.

·  Coordinate construction sequencing and activities involving earthwork, grading, drainage, utilities, concrete, paving, structures, and other civil infrastructure work.

·  Monitor project progress against the approved schedule and communicate potential delays, productivity issues, and resource constraints to the Project Manager.

·   Coordinate with Project Managers, engineers, surveyors, inspectors, subcontractors, and owners to resolve design conflicts, RFIs, constructability issues, and field changes.

Required Qualifications:   

·  High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred.

·  7–10+ years of progressive field construction experience, with demonstrated experience supervising civil infrastructure projects.

·  Proven experience as a Superintendent, General Superintendent, Foreman, or comparable field leadership role.

·  Strong knowledge of civil construction means and methods, sequencing, site logistics, and field operations.

·  Experience with earthwork, grading, utilities, drainage, concrete, paving, structures, or transportation infrastructure.

·  Bridge construction or rehabilitation experience is a plus for transportation-focused projects.

·  Experience with DOT, municipal, public works, or federally funded projects preferred.

·   Ability to read and interpret civil, structural, utility, grading, drainage, and construction plans and specifications.  

Preferred Qualifications:  

·  Familiarity with Procore, Bluebeam, HCSS, HeavyJob, Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar construction software preferred.

·  Strong understanding of construction quality control, inspections, testing, and documentation.

·  Excellent leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.

·   Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced field environment and manage changing priorities.
