Engagement Specialist

Bolton & Menk is looking to add an Engagement Specialist to our team. This role focuses on project communication within community infrastructure projects across the Midwest, Southeast, and beyond. What You Will Be Doing Communicate multi‑channel outreach and inquiry responses with businesses and residents affected by planning and engineering activities. Write and edit frequent project updates and other content for print and online communications, including websites, social media, and newsletters. Coordinate the development of planning project and program handouts, graphics, maps, and other collateral materials. Meet with internal stakeholders, including project managers, and coordinate with other related county activities and initiatives. Plan and attend public meetings and events such as project open houses. Maintain project contact information database and generate regular reports. Assist with meetings with project stakeholders, including local businesses and residents, to communicate project updates and gather background information on any special needs they may have. Assist in development and implementation of public information plans for projects. Travel to facilities and other project‑related locations as necessary. Maintain confidentiality of company and client related information. Provide verbal and written responses to public inquiries received by the project team and client. What We Are Looking For Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, journalism, or a related field with two or more years of experience in writing marketing communications such as collateral, case studies, white papers, email, blogs, and website content. Preferably with a professional services organization or equivalent combination of education and experience. Advanced computer skills with Microsoft Office, Excel, and PowerPoint. Advanced skills with desktop publishing software (e.g., InDesign). Advanced skills with social media applications (Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, etc.). Beneficial skills include graphic design capabilities, experience with Adobe Photoshop, basic understanding of the AEC industry, knowledge of marketing/client databases, and knowledge of proposal processes. Strong client needs assessment skills, meeting quality standards for service, and evaluating client satisfaction. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent composition, grammar, and proofreading skills. Possess a valid driver’s license; travel to various job sites may be required. Education: Bachelor of Science in Marketing, Journalism, or Communications (preferred). Salary Range: $52,000 – $67,000 depending on years of experience and credentials.
