Registered Nurse - Operating Room

Job Description

Job Summary:
The Operating Room Registered Nurse will provide essential surgical nursing care in a fast-paced environment, supporting various types of cases including cardiovascular, vascular, cardiac, thoracic, GYN, and general surgeries. This role requires collaboration with the surgical team to ensure patient safety and successful procedural outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and assist during surgical procedures, ensuring all sterile and safety protocols are followed.
• Administer medications and monitor patient vitals before, during, and after surgeries.
• Prepare operating rooms with necessary equipment and supplies for scheduled cases.
• Communicate effectively with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other team members throughout procedures.
• Document patient care activities accurately in Cerner and PowerChart systems.
• Assist with vascular and hybrid cases, including circulating and scrub responsibilities as applicable.

Qualifications:

• Hold a valid NJ or Compact RN license at the time of application.
• Possess at least 1 year of OR nursing experience.
• Have recent manager references within the last 24 months.
• Demonstrate proficiency with Cerner and PowerChart documentation platforms.
• Be experienced with circulate roles in vascular/hybrid cases; scrub experience preferred.
• Maintain ACLS and BLS certification.
