Registered Nurse - Cardiac Operating Room Mainland - Full Time

POSITION SUMMARY
The Registered Nurse is a member of the interdisciplinary team working in collaboration with the Physician. The Registered Nurse utilizes the nursing care process consistent with their license and/or certification including initiation of culturally competent continuum of care including inpatient, outpatient and community settings. The Cardiac Operating Room Registered Nurse is responsible to oversee any necessary coordination of the interdisciplinary surgical plan of care and provides for its consistency with the surgical treatment plan.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION/LICENSE: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; BSN preferred. Current Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of New Jersey or current multi state license required. BLS required. Valid NJ Driver's License is required for all employees in the Adult and Child Partial Programs.

EXPERIENCE: Proficiency in Clinical Applications preferred at time of hire; incumbents within position will be trained appropriately and then skill will be required for this position within 30-60 days from date of hire.

All registered professional nurses after 24 months of initial assignment will have completion of ATCN or TNCC. Minimum of 8 contact hours of education every 1 year in basic trauma assessment, intervention and stabilization; PALS or ENPC, with PALS or ENPC provider status attained within 12 months of initial assignment and continuously maintained thereafter.

2-4 years neonatal Intensive Care Unit experience preferred.

NRP (NALS), required within 1 year from date of hire or transfer.

Mother/Baby Unit (OB)

2-4 years mother/baby experience preferred.

NRP (NALS), required within 1 year from date of hire or transfer.

Perinatology

3 years labor and deliver experience preferred.
