Sourcing and Contract Manager Company: Baylor Scott & White Health – Dallas, Texas Posted: 12-Jun-26 Internal Number: 26007957 Job Summary The Sourcing and Contracts Manager oversees sourcing, contracting, and supplier management for assigned products or services, executing commodity strategies across various spending categories. The role serves as a strategic focal point for the business and Supply Chain teams, drafting contracts, negotiating terms, and ensuring compliance with business and market requirements. Essential Functions of the Role Draft, negotiate, and execute contracts for assigned categories, comparing them to industry trends and market standards; continuously engage with end‑users and Commodities Directors to understand market pressures. Drive performance to achieve yearly cost reductions by standardizing products and sourcing the most cost‑effective commodities or services. Participate in and/or manage Request for Proposals (RFPs) for new or existing products and services. Ensure pricing accuracy and completeness in the source‑to‑settle system, identifying bottlenecks related to contract setup. Partner with sourcing, business, and legal teams on contract negotiations, rights, obligations, and RFPs; create agreements that meet both organizational and supplier needs. Review supplier requests to change terms, assess risk, and recommend protective actions, resolving or escalating disputes as appropriate. Assess contracting language revisions and redlines to maintain internal risk structure, ensuring contracts are up‑to‑date with necessary terms and comply with all legal requirements. Evaluate delivery and logistics options for products, collaborating with internal stakeholders and suppliers to determine optimal solutions. Monitor market information, benchmarking, product introductions, and other drivers that impact the comparative position of contracts. Key Success Factors Speak and write in technical and legal terminology, simplifying complex contractual issues for all audiences. Demonstrate exceptional verbal and written communication skills, influencing all levels of the organization. Apply a business lens to legal and contract matters. Show expertise in contracting and negotiation processes to create mutually beneficial outcomes. Utilize strong negotiation skills for managing complex agreements with significant budget impact. Employ critical thinking to develop viable solutions to complex problems. Possess knowledge of sourcing and contracting process best practices and measurement techniques. Manipulate large volumes of spend data for analysis of supplier, product, and facility utilization. Understand the financial and accounting impact of assigned spend areas. Excel in Microsoft Office applications. Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience (minimum four years). Experience: Minimum three years in sourcing, contracting, or a related field.
