JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB TITLE: Maintenance Trainee STATUS: Hourly

REPORTS TO : Maintenance Supervisor DATE: 4/2026

JOB SUMMARY :

Provides technical support at a basic level, including troubleshooting and preventative maintenance of facility equipment. Learn and assist with the operation and repair of facility equipment as needed.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. Assist in the tear down and set up to production equipment under the direction of supervisor and/or designated trainer.
2. Complete assigned work orders and maintain documentation of all work performed.
3. Maintain all equipment blades used on the equipment such as cleaning and sharpening.
4. Make minor adjustments to the equipment to better perform with the flock being processed.
5. Identify opportunities for improvement and communicate those to supervisor, lead person and/or designated trainer.
6. Demonstrate training information has been received and understood by demonstrating procedures to the designated trainer.
7. Participate in training programs provided and utilize skills learned to assist the maintenance team.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

• Basic knowledge of electrical and mechanical procedures.
• Basic knowledge of math.
• Skill in using a variety of computer software, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Skill in communicating in a courteous and professional manner, both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to read, write and speak English proficiently.
• Ability to analyze, evaluate, and solve mechanical problems.
• Ability to use hand and power tools.
• Ability to be a good representative of the Company.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Ability to pass a maintenance entrance exam.
• Ability to perform basic math.
• Ability to work flexible hours and weekends as needed.
• Availability to work on any shift as assigned by management after the completion of the Maintenance Trainee Training Program.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

High School diploma or GED required. Minimum of one year experience in maintenance or a related field required.
