Quality Inspector - Night Shift

Quality Inspector
Shift: 3rd – Monday through Friday (1:00 AM – 8:30 AM Monday morning, 11:30 PM – 8:30 AM Monday night – Friday morning). Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspection and testing of raw materials, in-process parts, and finished products to ensure they meet quality specifications
- Use precision measuring tools and testing equipment to assess product properties
- Interpret product specifications and tolerances on engineering drawings and technical documentation to ensure compliance
- Conducts visual inspections to ensure products meet visual appearance requirements
- Maintain accurate records of inspection results, including any non-conformances or deviations from standards
- Understand the SPC data collection system to ensure that the manufacturing processes are in control in producing high quality products
- Collaborate with production and quality teams on root cause analysis, continuous improvement projects, and critical success factors
- Provide flexible support to other areas of the plant as needed
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong observational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Basic understanding of measurement systems and tools
- Ability to interpret quality drawings and sampling plans
- Proficiency in basic computer software (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.)
- Work overtime as required, including weekends
- Ability to perform the essential functions as detailed in the functional job description, including the requirement to lift and carry 50 – 100 lbs (over 50 lbs with an assist).
Preferred Qualifications
- Work experience in a manufacturing quality or plastic extrusion environment
- Good visual acuity
- Powered Industrial Vehicle experience
- Experience with InfinityQS ProFicient on Demand or other SPC software
- Passion for learning and growth with ability to manage own tasks and meet goals and objectives with little supervision
- Demonstration of sense of urgency and ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Proven track record of making consistent, logical, and objective decisions using good judgment
