Clinical Nurse

BJC HealthCare seeks a Clinical Nurse for our Operating Room in the Outpatient Surgery Center. In this role, you'll deliver perioperative care to surgical patients, functioning as circulator and/or scrub nurse for a variety of outpatient procedures. You will prepare OR suites and equipment, uphold strict sterile and safety standards, and closely monitor patients throughout their surgical experience. Collaborating with surgeons, anesthesia, and multidisciplinary teams, you'll provide patient and family education, support quality initiatives, and advance your skills in our mission-driven, research-connected health system. Responsibilities Provide perioperative nursing care for outpatient surgical patients in the operating room Prepare OR suites, equipment, and instruments according to procedure and safety standards Circulate and/or scrub for surgical cases, ensuring aseptic technique and accurate counts Monitor patients' status, document care, and communicate with the surgical team Educate patients and families on pre- and post-operative expectations and discharge instructions Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia, and multidisciplinary staff to optimize outcomes Follow all infection prevention, safety, and regulatory standards Participate in quality improvement, evidence-based practice, and continuing education Required Skills Perioperative nursing OR circulating techniques Sterile and aseptic technique Surgical instrumentation and equipment operation Patient assessment and monitoring Infection prevention and control Electronic health record (EHR) documentation Pre- and post-operative patient education Intraoperative emergency response Interdisciplinary teamwork and communication #J-18808-Ljbffr
