The nurse supervises and directs the activities of various levels of assigned nursing staff. Coordination of care with other disciplines is expected while utilizing critical thinking and professional discretion. The nurse will collect relevant data pertinent to patients' health or situations. Assessment data will be analyzed to determine diagnosis and care issues. A care plan will be developed with prescribed interventions to attain desired outcomes. The implementation of the plan, coordination of care delivery, and promotion of health in a safe environment are essential. Regular evaluation of progress toward attaining outcomes is required. Identifying outcomes for the patient or the situation is crucial. Collaboration with the patient, family, and healthcare providers in providing patient care is necessary. Learning opportunities for patients, family members, and team members should be provided. Direct provision of health information to patients and families is expected. Participation in discharge planning is important to ensure continuity of care. Appropriate delegation and coordination of duties among healthcare team members are key responsibilities. Other job-related duties may be assigned as needed. Adherence to safety and well-being protocols is a priority. Required vaccinations must be received as a condition of employment.
