Senior Payroll Analyst

Job Title: Senior Payroll Analyst (Consulting)


Pay Rate: $40-$45/hour


Location: New York, NY (Hybrid)


Position Overview


Our client is seeking a Senior Payroll Analyst to join their team on a consulting basis. This individual will be responsible for supporting end-to-end payroll operations, ensuring payroll accuracy and compliance, and serving as a key resource for payroll-related reporting, analysis, and process improvements.


The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience processing multi-state payroll for both hourly and salaried employee populations, strong knowledge of payroll regulations, and experience utilizing Workday Payroll in a fast-paced environment.


Key Responsibilities

• Process accurate and timely bi-weekly and semi-monthly payrolls using Workday Payroll
• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local payroll regulations
• Review payroll transactions, identify discrepancies, and resolve issues proactively
• Serve as a subject matter expert for employee payroll inquiries
• Perform payroll audits, reconciliations, and validation procedures to maintain data integrity
• Partner with HR, Finance, and other cross-functional teams to support payroll operations
• Generate payroll reports and provide analysis to support business decisions
• Assist with payroll system troubleshooting, testing, and enhancements
• Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes and operational efficiency
• Support special projects and initiatives as needed

Qualifications

• 5 years of payroll experience
• Experience processing multi-state payroll for both hourly and salaried employee populations
• Hands-on Workday Payroll experience required
• Strong understanding of payroll tax regulations and compliance requirements
• Advanced Excel skills with the ability to analyze and reconcile large data sets
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and customer service abilities
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment

• Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
• Target start date: July 13
