Business Support Specialist Responsibilities

• Prioritize and resolve customer bill inquiries, payment escalations, and service requests while meeting weekly productivity goals and deadlines.
• Perform accurate data entry, auditing, and payment-related processing.
• Communicate professionally with customers, utility companies, and internal stakeholders.
• Collaborate across teams to identify issues and improve operational processes.
• Create and maintain reports using Microsoft Office and integrated business systems.
• Utilize applications such as PeopleSoft, Passport, EERS, Time, and other enterprise systems.
• Review completed work for accuracy and provide constructive feedback when needed.
• Support customer onboarding and general administrative and clerical functions.

Business Support Specialist Qualifications

• 1-3 years of professional experience; entry-level candidates may also be considered.
• Bachelor's degree required; extensive directly relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills, including working with spreadsheets and templates.
• Strong attention to detail and demonstrated accuracy in data entry, auditing, payment processing, or similar work.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proven ability to work effectively with customers and cross-functional teams.
• Ability to manage deadlines and measurable productivity expectations.

Business Support Specialist Preferred Qualifications

• Previous utility, energy, or power-delivery industry experience.
• Familiarity with PeopleSoft, Passport, Impromptu, or similar enterprise systems.
