Summary
The Building Custodian is responsible for performing routine cleaning and housekeeping work to ensure that county-owned buildings maintain a clean and presentable appearance. A Criminal background check is required. Essential Duties
- Vacuum buildings and offices.
- Maintain clean and dust-free floors and carpeting.
- Maintain clean walls and woodwork.
- Provide trash removal and recycle removal.
- Clean and mop bathrooms daily.
- Stock bathrooms with soap and paper products.
- Provide dusting as needed.
- Perform other duties, tasks and special projects, as required.
Qualifications / Requirements:
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
- One to six months of related experience and training.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple instructions.
- Ability to follow checklists provided by supervisor.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Ability to follow procedures as directed for mixing cleaners and building cleaning.
- Ability to read and understand instructions on labels (cleaning products).
- Ability to run certain machinery for cleaning purposes.
- Manual dexterity (sufficient to reach/handle items and work with fingers).
- Ability to run equipment (buffer, vacuum, etc.).
- Three years of experience preferred.
- Flexibility.
- Basic time management skills.
- Ability to establish priorities and remain focused.
- Able to carry tasks to completion.
