Occupational Therapist School Setting in Milton, DE

Job Description

Exciting opportunity for an Occupational Therapist to make a meaningful impact in an educational setting! This contract position offers a chance to support students throughout the full academic year with a hands-on, in-person approach, replacing virtual services. You’ll work closely with a manageable caseload of 14 students, helping them achieve their academic and developmental goals in a supportive school environment.

This role is perfect for professionals seeking a flexible schedule—you’ll work one day per week (7.5 hours), with the day selected based on your availability.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

Current licensure as an Occupational Therapist
Experience in school-based OT services preferred
Understanding of IEP processes and documentation
Strong communication and collaboration abilities
Ability to adapt interventions to meet a variety of student needs
Commitment to in-person services in a school setting

Key Responsibilities:

Assess students’ needs and develop individualized treatment plans
Deliver hands-on therapy to promote students’ functional independence
Collaborate with teachers, families, and other professionals to integrate strategies
Document student progress and adjust interventions as necessary
Attend meetings and contribute to educational planning as needed
Maintain compliance with state and federal regulations for school-based OT
