You know Form 990 and 990PF work well enough to be the person others come to with questions.

But that doesn't mean you want to work on nothing else. You've spent years building a broader tax skillset, and you want to keep using it.

Your not for profit and private foundation knowledge will be a big part of this role. You'll prepare and review returns, help colleagues work through questions and build relationships with clients who value having someone they can actually speak to.

That's one layer. The other is working with high net worth individuals, trusts, partnerships and privately held businesses. You'll have an area people know you for, but your everyday work won't look the same.

You'll join an independent, single office CPA mid sized. They've been part of the Chicagoland market for more than 75 years, and the partners are still closely involved with both clients and the people doing the work.

There's scope to do more than get returns out the door. You can mentor the team, improve how work flows through the department and have a voice in how this area of the practice develops. You'll also work directly with partners, wealth advisors and attorneys, so your expertise will be visible.

Progression is built into how this firm works. They've put real thought into career paths, and they have a strong track record of helping people move through them. If you want to keep growing beyond Supervisor or Manager, you'll be somewhere that knows how to support that.

Busy season typically averages around 55 hours. The fall push is lighter, summers are calmer, and the firm offers hybrid working, flexible hours and summer Fridays.

You'll need public accounting experience preparing and reviewing both Forms 990 and 990PF , alongside experience with individual, trust, partnership and business returns. They're looking for around six or more years of experience and a CPA or EA.
