Job Title: RN - MedSurg/Tele Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: MedSurg/Tele Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years Med/Tele RN experience License: Valid Registered Nurse License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - General Med/Tele skillset - Stroke experience - Cardiac rhythm interpretation - PIV starts - Chest tube management - NGT placement - Drain/tube management (Dobhoff, PEG tubes, Hemovac, JP drains, flexiseals, foley insertion/management) - PCA pumps medication management to include cardiac drips, heparin, blood products, and IV fluids Description: We are seeking an experienced RN for a MedSurg/Tele position. The role involves caring for adult and geriatric patients. Common diagnoses include COPD exacerbation, pneumonia, CHF exacerbation, falls with injuries, MVC with injuries, pulmonary embolism, DVT, UTI, pneumothorax, GI bleeds, and CVA. Patient ratios are generally 1:5-6, with some units operating at 1:4. Expect to float within designated regions and scope of practice as needed. You will receive support from CNAs and secretarial staff. The department has a culture that feels like family, fostering a supportive environment for all staff. The scheduling includes weekend rotations and working on holidays will be expected. Travelers will be paid for time traveling between facilities if floating mid-shift. All units will utilize EMR systems and relevant medical equipment. This role requires flexibility and adaptability to meet patient care needs effectively.
