About the Position

Job Title: RN - MedSurg/Tele Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: MedSurg/Tele Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12hr Night Shift Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum 2 years Med/Tele experience preferred License: RN License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Experience in a Med/Tele setting - Strong knowledge of stroke experience and cardiac rhythm interpretation - Skills in trach care, PIV starts, chest tube management, NGT placement, drain/tube management, and PCA pump management Description: Registered Nurse position available in the MedSurg/Tele specialty. The work environment involves a Level I Trauma Teaching Client with a focus on emergency care. The unit includes a number of beds for both emergency department patients and boarding. Nursing staff will be required to provide care for a variety of patient types and common diagnoses, including trauma, stroke, heart failure, and respiratory illnesses. Travelers will primarily be hired as Med/Tele RNs to cover patients held in the emergency department. The patient-to-nurse ratio is 1:5, depending on acuity, and there is additional support available from CNAs and other healthcare professionals. Medication management includes administration of cardiac drips, blood products, and IV fluids. The RN will be using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and various medical equipment as required. There may be a requirement to float to other facilities within the region. Weekend rotation is expected every other weekend, with holidays required as per the travel policy. Requests for time off can be approved up to 6 days, excluding holidays.
