Director of Admissions and Marketing

May Center for Learning is looking for a Director of Admissions and Marketing to help grow our reach and impact across New Mexico.

This is a unique opportunity to join a mission-driven educational organization at an exciting time of growth. The Director of Admissions and Marketing will lead student recruitment and enrollment for our lab school while also helping expand awareness and participation in May Center's broader programs for educators, schools, and communities.

You will be a highly visible ambassador for May Center—building relationships with families, educators, school districts, educator preparation programs, community partners, and other stakeholders while communicating what makes the May Center approach distinctive.

What You'll Do

Lead Admissions and Enrollment

• Partner with Head of School on all aspects of student recruitment and admissions for May Center for Learning
• Develop and implement admissions policies and procedures.
• Manage inquiries, applications, admissions assessments, enrollment, and communication with applicant families.
• Track admissions and enrollment across programs and ensure each class is filled with the appropriate number of qualified students.
• Plan and lead open houses, tours, information sessions, and other admissions events.
• Build trusting relationships with prospective families and guide them thoughtfully through the admissions process.

Build the May Center Brand

• Develop and implement a comprehensive marketing strategy that supports enrollment, program participation, and May Center's broader organizational goals.
• Lead marketing and communications across branding, public relations, print, digital, social media, and web platforms.
• Create compelling content that communicates May Center's mission, programs, educational philosophy, and impact.
• Maintain and regularly update the May Center website.
• Ensure consistency and quality across May Center's public-facing communications and brand identity.
• Identify new opportunities to increase May Center's visibility throughout New Mexico.

Expand Our Reach to Educators and Schools

• Partner with the Director of Teacher Institute to recruit educators, school districts, educator preparation programs, and other stakeholders to participate in May Center's professional learning, training, and educational programming.
• Build and maintain relationships with schools, educators, higher education institutions, and community partners.
• Help expand participation in May Center's educator programming and strengthen the organization's statewide recognition.

Strengthen Community Engagement

• Partner with the Director of Advancement to develop and implement community engagement strategies.
• Represent May Center at community events, educational conferences, and other public engagements.
• Cultivate relationships that increase awareness of May Center's work and connect new audiences to our mission.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who is both strategic and relational —someone who can develop a marketing plan, manage the details, build authentic relationships, and communicate passionately about the work.

You will bring:

• A Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, education, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of professional experience in education, marketing, communications, admissions, or a related field.
• Success in developing and evaluating targeted marketing campaigns
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Strong empathy and the ability to communicate thoughtfully with families.
• The ability to articulate May Center's mission, programs, and educational approach to diverse audiences.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• The ability to manage multiple projects and priorities while meeting deadlines.
• A collaborative, team-oriented approach.
• Experience with Canva, Squarespace, and Google Workspace/Google Suite .
• Strong attention to detail and follow-through.
• The confidence and enthusiasm to serve as a public-facing ambassador for May Center.

Experience in school admissions, independent school enrollment, nonprofit marketing, public relations, professional learning, educator recruitment, or educational marketing is a plus.
