The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.

Responsibilities:

With minimal direction and with considerable latitude to exercise independent judgment, serves as Mobile Mammography Community Outreach Coordinator for the Department of Imaging Sciences.

The Community Outreach Coordinator (COC) will support the Program Manager in coordinating culturally appropriate screening events throughout the Finger Lakes and surrounding counties. COC assists with Screening event logistics, market plans, and programs on a scheduled basis to promote services. The COC will manage established partnerships to ensure schedules, referrals, screening numbers, and marketing protocols are supported. The COC provides screening events that are visible on websites, uploaded to social media, community penny-savers, and flyers are distributed to local agencies, health centers, retails, and town chambers.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Administrative and Project Coordination

• Conduct administrative support, such as planning and maintaining a calendar of events, scheduling appointments, note taking, screening calls, maintaining inventory, preparing correspondence and agendas for meetings, etc.
• Triage incoming phone calls.
• Develop and implement a system for follow up with appropriate staff on questions and suggestions left during the events.
• Responsible for ensuring proper staff training for community involvement. Plan, coordinate and monitor outreach activities (which may include multi-site/community-based partnerships, as well as at multiple therapeutic areas).
• Plan and maintain calendar of scheduled outreach days, ensuring appropriate coverage at high yield events.
• Ensure partners are stocked with appropriate materials and refill/change as needed while all community displays are well -kept and are a professional representation.
• Manage day to day operations and act as the onsite point person for community events.

Community Outreach

• Cultivate relationships or partnership development efforts between the COC office and community we serve.
• Work with COC team (including Ambassadors), internal and external partners to ensure that events are fully staffed in Monroe and surrounding counties.
• Organize, develop, prepare, and deliver educational materials for programs based on breast cancer awareness, prevention, risk reduction and early detection strategies.
• Communicates with referring services regarding patient appropriateness for program and coordinates information with referring services. This includes all pathways of patient intake into the breast screening program. . Works closely with program leadership, communications, and marketing teams to promote program outreach
• Identify gaps in programs where URMC may serve as a point of connectivity and help fill community and regional challenges as it pertains to breast cancer awareness, prevention, risk reduction and early detection and make recommendations.
• Participate in outreach activities as needed.

Community Partnership

• Research, seek out, and identify opportunities to collaborate with local entities such as schools, churches, municipalities and other community-based organizations to develop, coordinate and deliver methods for breast cancer preventative education in culturally appropriate ways.
• Develop, maintain, and foster working relationships with community agencies, organizations, small businesses, and other groups interested in breast cancer prevention education.
• Monitor and evaluate the short-term and long-term goals of the COC.
• This position will be required to become fluent and efficient in numerous systems and associated databases such as eRecord/Radiant.
• Prepares weekly updates on program activity, statistics and recommendations for program enhancements

MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor's degree required
• Or equivalent combination of education and experience

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Strong organizational and time-management skills required
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities required
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment required
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and social media platforms required
