(REMOTE) Civil Litigation Associate

Overview

The Civil Litigation Associate will handle matters from intake through resolution , including case strategy, client counseling, motion practice, discovery, hearings, and trial preparation. The role requires strong courtroom experience and the ability to independently manage litigation files while contributing to team-based matters.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a civil litigation docket from inception through resolution
• Draft and argue motions, pleadings, and discovery
• Conduct legal research and develop case strategy
• Appear in state and federal courts for hearings, mediations, and trials
• Advise clients on litigation risk and case strategy
• Handle settlement negotiations and resolution efforts
• Collaborate with attorneys, experts, and third parties on complex matters
• Support select business development initiatives when appropriate

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
• Active license to practice law in good standing (any U.S. state required; multiple jurisdictions a plus)
• Experience in civil litigation (state and/or federal)
• Strong courtroom experience, including motion practice and hearings
• Excellent legal writing, research, and analytical skills
• Ability to manage multiple cases independently and meet deadlines consistently
• Strong communication and client counseling abilities

Preferred

• Experience managing a full litigation docket independently
• Exposure to complex commercial or business litigation
• Existing book of business (not required, but a plus)
