Job Description

Join a growing manufacturing team as a 3rd Shift Assembler, where you will work on an assembly line punching grommets and rivets into manufactured blades. You will contribute to a clean, well-organized production environment, using power tools and measuring equipment while maintaining high quality standards and supporting a team-based operating rhythm.

Responsibilities

• Punch grommets and rivets into manufactured blades as part of an assembly line process.

• Operate basic power tools and production equipment safely and efficiently.

• Measure parts accurately to ensure they meet required specifications.

• Inspect parts and finished products for quality defects and report issues promptly.

• Follow established operating rhythms and standard work instructions as part of a coordinated team process.

• Maintain attention to detail throughout the production cycle to ensure consistent product quality.

• Support general production tasks as needed to keep the line running smoothly.

• Handle parts safely, including at stations where components are removed from a furnace using a grabber.

• Keep the work area clean, organized, and compliant with safety and housekeeping standards.

• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production goals and deadlines.

• Participate in orientation, training, and ongoing skill development to understand expectations and continuously improve performance.

Essential Skills

• Experience in assembly, production, or general manufacturing environments.

• Ability to work effectively on an assembly line and follow a structured operating rhythm.

• Proficiency in using measuring tools to verify dimensions and quality.

• Ability to safely operate basic power tools in a production setting.

• Strong attention to detail for identifying quality defects and maintaining consistency.

• Demonstrated critical thinking skills to solve problems and make sound decisions on the line.

• Proven ability to work as a team player in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

• Capability to stand on your feet for the duration of the shift.

• Ability to lift 40–50 lbs as part of routine job duties.

• Comfort working in areas that may become hot due to furnace or oven operations.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Prior experience in a manufacturing facility with multiple departments such as welding, shipping/receiving, or engineering is beneficial.

• Familiarity with quality inspection practices and defect identification is an advantage.

• Willingness to learn new processes and adapt to a team-based production system.

• Openness to cross-training and exploring growth opportunities in other departments over time.

Work Environment

The facility is clean, very organized, and structured around a production line that operates alongside welding, shipping/receiving, and engineering departments. The 3rd shift runs from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., with additional openings on 1st shift (6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.) and 2nd shift (2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.). You will be on your feet throughout the shift and may handle parts near a furnace or oven, where temperatures can become hot at certain stations. The environment emphasizes safety, proper use of power tools and measuring equipment, and adherence to organized workflows. Orientation typically begins at 6:00 a.m. on the first day and includes a facility tour, lunch, and job shadowing so you can observe experienced employees and gain a solid understanding of expectations. Appropriate workwear is supported through merchandise vouchers for shirts, pants, and protective footwear, helping you maintain a practical and safe dress standard on the production floor.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Rock Island, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.50 - $19.50/hr.
