Software Engineer PySpark AWS Databricks

Salary: $61,000 - 101,000 per year Requirements:

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts, plus 3+ years of applied experience
• Practical, hands-on background in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
• Experience developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate setting using one or more modern programming languages and database query languages
• Hands-on experience with enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools for coding, test creation, troubleshooting, or documentation, with the ability to evaluate, validate, and refine AI-generated output for correctness, performance, and security
• Understanding of responsible AI practices in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity, secure handling of inputs and outputs, and resiliency and security expectations
• Strong working knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle
• Solid grasp of agile practices such as CI/CD, application resiliency, and security
• Good understanding of machine learning modelling from an engineering perspective
• Experience with one or more programming languages and frameworks such as Python, PySpark, Big Data, data pipelines, and machine learning
• Strong SQL skills, with the ability to validate features and data quality at scale
• Experience configuring and optimizing Spark clusters for large-scale data processing
• Hands-on experience with AWS services including EMR, EC2, S3, and CloudWatch
• Working knowledge of Databricks for building data pipelines and deploying machine learning models
• Familiarity with modern front-end technologies is preferred
• Experience with cloud technologies, especially AWS and Databricks, is preferred
• Understanding of Python machine learning libraries and ecosystems such as Pandas and NumPy is preferred
• AWS certifications, such as Solutions Architect Associate, are preferred
• Exposure to workflow orchestration tools such as Apache Airflow or Control-M is preferred

• Deliver software solutions through design, development, and technical troubleshooting, using creative thinking to solve complex problems
• Build secure, high-quality production code and maintain synchronous algorithms across appropriate systems
• Use enterprise-authorized AI coding tools to improve code quality, delivery speed, and productivity across complex work, while validating outputs through peer review, automated testing, and secure coding standards
• Apply SDLC tooling and automation capabilities, including approved AI-assisted development tools, to increase the value delivered through automation
• Produce architecture and design artifacts for complex applications and ensure software code meets design constraints
• Gather, analyze, synthesize, and create visualizations and reporting from large and diverse data sets to support continuous improvement of software applications and systems
• Proactively identify hidden issues and patterns in data to strengthen coding hygiene and system architecture
