Apprentice Machinist -- CNC Turning Track

Are You Ready to Master Precision Turning?

Do you enjoy building, fixing, and solving problems with your hands? As an Apprentice Machinist on our CNC Turning Track, you’ll learn how to run a CNC lathe with confidence—producing accurate metal parts, checking quality with precision instruments, and developing the habits that make great machinists: safety, accuracy, and consistency.

Your Mission in the First Months

Run production on CNC lathes under the wing of expert machinists and supervisors.
Load raw materials, start/monitor/stop cycles, and spot issues like chatter or dimensional drift.
Support basic setups: swap tools, adjust offsets, and assist with machine calibration.
Learn Mazatrol fundamentals and core machine controls.
Measure features using dial calipers, OD/ID mics, and gauges; confirm parts meet blueprints/specs.
Capture production and inspection data; follow job sheets and step-by-step work instructions.
Keep machines lubricated and clean; maintain an orderly workstation and report malfunctions.

Graduates with a high school diploma or GED; trade school/machining classes are a plus.
Beginners—no experience required—who bring mechanical curiosity or manufacturing exposure.
People comfortable with basic math and eager to learn blueprint reading and tolerances.
