Engineering Manager

We deliver highly-differentiated SiTE™ Optimization and kNgineering™ services to solar Developers, EPCs, and EORs with industry-leading civil-structural optimization capabilities and have also developed The SolarSpace® Toolbox—our terrain-based civil-structural optimization software that incorporates the proprietary algorithms and workflows we’ve developed internally. With more than 7 GWdc of optimized projects we are accelerating the growth of both our services and software business lines and need a commercially sharp, technically-capable manager to help drive our success. The successful candidate for the position will support the Chief Executive Officer in driving our engineering execution in various types of projects and disciplines, and will have the opportunity to play a key role in the development of our business. Job Description and Responsibilities Hire, supervise, support and develop engineering team, 5-10 direct reports Assist engineering project management team as needed learning all aspects of the team's responsibilities Maintain strong relationships with clients Assess current SOPs and workflows identifying opportunities for improvement Ensure projects are completed efficiently, correctly, on schedule, and within budget Negotiate and manage contracts with outside vendors from various engineering disciplines Maintain relationships and manage expectations with engineering consultants and software vendors Review engineering work for accuracy and ensuring compliance with engineering principlesReview RFPs and contract documents Act as liaison with Project Management on matters relating to engineering progress, quality, scope issues on projects as well as interface with customers on technical questions/concerns Research latest technologies and best practices Skills and Requirements Integrity and enthusiasm Self-motivated and able to operate effectively in a small, fast-moving team 7+ years of engineering experience 2+ years of PV commercial/utility design engineering experience 2+ years of engineering management experience Masters Degree in related engineering discipline preferred PE license in relevant field highly desired Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills; comfortable leading technical conversations Commercially fluent—comfortable with cost modeling and quoting projects #J-18808-Ljbffr KiloNewton
