The Opportunity Future focused and always one step ahead! We’re adding to our diverse team of experts and are looking to hire an Actuarial Analyst Sr. to enrich the MR-AS Corporate Reserving Team. This position is a member of the Corporate Reserving department. The responsibility of Corporate Reserving is to use quantitative and qualitative methods to perform and oversee the loss reserve analyses for Munich Re's property and casualty business in the US. This includes continuous monitoring of the reserve position and the further development of actuarial methods, the underlying systems, and tools. Additional responsibilities are the assessment and quantification of reserve uncertainty and reserve risk, as well as financial reporting on non‑life technical provisions under IFRS17, Solvency II, local GAAP and Statutory standards. In your role, you’ll lead the actuarial analyses and closing for the business written by Next Insurance and consequently assumed into the MRAm pool, ensure smooth processes and manage the relationship with actuarial teams across Munich Re Group stakeholders. The successful candidate will have reserving insurance experience for a variety of coverages and contract structures. IFRS17 knowledge is a bonus. Responsibilities Prepare and complete actuarial analysis with minimal supervision or guidance appropriate for the functional area. Participate in the development of actuarial presentations and present results/topics to clients (internal & external) and management as requested. Complete the required data preparation, including data input, under general direction. Identify data & operational issues requiring specialized actuarial attention. Document and communicate assumptions, results and alternatives to actuarial staff and internal and external clients. Communicate and act as an interface between Corporate Reserving and the Global Reserving team, as well as Controlling, Accounting and Claims staff locally and globally. Contribute to quarterly and annual, internal as well as external (Statutory, GAAP, and IFRS17) reporting and closing with regards to the non‑life reinsurance business. Prepare for and pass Actuarial Exams. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in mathematics, actuarial science, economics, business or related field requiring modeling, programming, or quantitative analysis. Two or more years of (re)insurance/actuarial experience or successful completion of the MR Graduate Trainee Program. Passed at least two (2) actuarial exams. Develop and maintain working knowledge of actuarial models, strong technical actuarial skills. Strong working knowledge of computers and MS Office Suite applications. Apply more advanced and innovative techniques in worksheets and other applications as appropriate for functional area. Strong interpersonal skills. Proficient oral and written communication skills. Ability to schedule and prioritize workload demands, including multi‑tasking. Able to manage and coordinate own projects using multiple resources. Location and Compensation The Company is open to considering candidates in numerous locations, including New York City, NY and Princeton, NJ. The salary range posted below reflects market variations across various locations. The offer will be adjusted per geography. The base salary range anticipated for this position is $88,400 - $140,900 , plus opportunity for company bonus based upon a percentage of eligible pay.
