Grinder / Machine Operator - Day Shift
Location: Washington, MO 63090
Position Type: Temp-to-Hire
Pay: $20.22/hour
Schedule: 6:00 AM-6:00 PM; rotating 3-2-2 schedule, including every other Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Overtime as required.
Position Summary
FLAG Solutions is seeking Grinder / Machine Operators for a confidential manufacturing company. This entry-level role operates grinding machinery to shape and finish titanium sheets to customer specifications. Hands-on training is provided; prior titanium or machinery experience is not required.
Key Responsibilities
- Use roller tables to assist with lifting, moving and flipping titanium sheets into and out of grinding equipment.
- Inspect sheet surfaces for imperfections and remove defects using grinding equipment.
- Check sheet thickness with micrometers and thickness gauges.
- Set up machines, install large grinder belts and monitor equipment for operating errors.
- Perform minor grinder maintenance and periodic equipment cleaning.
- Follow production orders, standard operating procedures and safety instructions.
Required Qualifications & Key Skills
- Basic computer skills and ability to read and understand written work instructions.
- Basic math skills and ability to use measuring instruments.
- Clear communication, teamwork and practical problem-solving skills.
- Availability for 12-hour day shifts, rotating weekends and required overtime.
- No formal education requirement for this requisition.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States; employment eligibility will be verified at hire. Visa sponsorship is not available.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk and perform the manual tasks required to handle materials.
- Close and distance vision, depth perception and ability to adjust visual focus.
Schedule & Conversion Opportunity
The rotating 3-2-2 schedule alternates workdays and days off, including every other three-day Friday-Sunday weekend. Conversion to direct employment may be available after approximately 90 days based on performance and client approval; conversion is not guaranteed.
Conversion Bonus
A $3,000 sign-on bonus may be available upon conversion to direct employment, subject to the client's eligibility requirements and bonus terms. This is not an immediate temporary-assignment bonus.
