Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Avionics Technician to support the assembly and integration of avionics systems within a satellite production line. In this role, you will assemble, test, and troubleshoot advanced electric propulsion components and subsystems, ensuring all products meet rigorous aerospace and quality standards. You will work closely with mechanical, electrical, and control systems in a high-reliability manufacturing environment, contributing directly to the performance and reliability of cutting-edge satellite hardware.

Responsibilities

• Assemble avionics systems, harnesses, and advanced electric propulsion components according to technical drawings, wiring schematics, and detailed work instructions.

• Integrate avionics subsystems into satellite structures, ensuring proper fit, alignment, and compatibility with mechanical, electrical, and control system requirements.

• Perform bench work, including wiring, routing, and dressing of harnesses, while adhering to aerospace harness dressing standards and practices.

• Conduct testing and calibration of avionics components and subsystems using appropriate tools, equipment, and test procedures to verify performance and reliability.

• Utilize CIRRIS or similar harness testing systems, when applicable, to validate wiring integrity and ensure compliance with quality and aerospace standards.

• Troubleshoot avionics and electronic assemblies, identify root causes of issues, and implement corrective actions to restore proper function.

• Maintain accurate documentation of assembly, test, and troubleshooting activities, following established work instructions and quality protocols.

• Follow cleanroom procedures and use required personal protective equipment (PPE) to maintain a controlled and contamination-free production environment.

• Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to resolve technical challenges and continuously improve assembly and test processes.

• Adhere strictly to aerospace quality standards, workmanship guidelines, and safety requirements throughout all phases of assembly, integration, testing, and maintenance.

Essential Skills

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Technical certification in avionics or aerospace assembly preferred.

• Minimum of 2 years of avionics experience in aviation, aerospace, or satellite manufacturing.

• Strong experience in mechanical, electrical, and control systems relevant to avionics and propulsion subsystems.

• Proficiency with harness dressing standards and practices in aerospace environments.

• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, wiring schematics, and detailed work instructions.

• Hands-on experience with assembly, blueprint interpretation, wiring, avionics, bench work, and electronics.

• Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity when working with small components and precise assemblies.

• Demonstrated commitment to quality and adherence to high-reliability manufacturing standards.

• Willingness and ability to work in a cleanroom environment using PPE as required.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Familiarity with CIRRIS or similar harness testing systems.

• IPC/WHMA-A-620 or NASA workmanship certification is highly desirable.

• Experience in high-reliability aerospace or satellite production lines.

• Comfort working with advanced electric propulsion components and subsystems.

• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional engineering and production teams.

• Strong problem-solving skills for troubleshooting and resolving avionics and electronic issues.

Work Environment & Compensation

This role is based in a cleanroom production environment focused on satellite and avionics assembly. Work is primarily bench-based, involving detailed wiring, harness dressing, and electronics tasks performed under strict cleanliness and contamination control procedures. Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required to maintain cleanroom standards and protect sensitive hardware. The facility operates as a high-reliability aerospace manufacturing site, with structured processes, documented work instructions, and rigorous quality controls. Employees can expect a professional, safety-conscious setting where precision, organization, and adherence to standards are central to daily work.

• Contract: $42/hr, $63/hr OT, up to $500 mileage reimbursement, $2,300/month for first 3 months (total $6,900), 3‑month contract‑to‑hire

• Direct hire (do not spread): $38–$40/hr, benefits package, stock upon conversion, $300 net/month meal allowance

• Shift: Mon–Fri, 7:30 AM–4:00 PM, 30‑minute unpaid lunch, OT as needed

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $42.00 - $42.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
