The Division of Interventional Cardiology at our organization is looking for a highly skilled candidate for a one-year position in the Non-ACGME Accredited Interventional Vascular Medicine Fellowship Program , commencing in July 2027. Applicants must have successfully completed an ACGME-accredited Interventional Cardiology Fellowship prior to applying.

Program Overview:

Our Interventional Vascular Medicine Fellowship Program is among the most active on the East Coast, delivering advanced and comprehensive care for patients suffering from peripheral vascular diseases, encompassing both arterial and venous conditions. Annually, we conduct over 2,000 procedures related to these vascular issues. The program is also deeply engaged in research and plays a pivotal role in numerous national and international trials focused on peripheral artery disease (PAD). Fellows will receive integrated training in diagnosing, managing, and performing percutaneous interventions for vascular diseases, with a strong emphasis on peripheral vascular conditions. They will collaborate closely with a distinguished team from the Departments of Vascular Medicine and Vascular Surgery, ensuring a thorough education in vascular and endovascular medicine. Upon completion of the fellowship, participants will be eligible for Board certification in Vascular Medicine and Endovascular Medicine.

Curriculum Highlights:

Fellows will have the chance to develop expertise in the assessment and treatment of a diverse range of vascular diseases, including:

• Acute and chronic arterial occlusions in the lower limbs
• Acute and chronic limb ischemia
• Atherosclerotic renal artery disease
• Atherosclerotic conditions affecting the brachiocephalic vessels, including the carotid artery
• Venous disorders such as deep vein thrombosis, venous compression, and superficial venous insufficiency
• Inflammatory vasculitis
• Procoagulant states
• Aortic diseases

By the end of the fellowship, participants will have gained proficiency in various interventional techniques, including:

• Atherectomy techniques: directional, orbital, aspirational, and laser
• Access and management of femoral, popliteal, pedal, radial, and brachial sites
• Drug-coated balloon and stenting, Supera stenting, and covered stenting
• Tissue plasminogen activator (tPA) thrombolysis
• Carotid and subclavian stenting
• Renal stenting
• Endovascular abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) repair
• Deep venous stenting
• Superficial venous ablations, sclerotherapy, and phlebectomy
• Utilization of various closure devices
• Wound care management

Additionally, fellows will have dedicated time for non-invasive teaching, gaining extensive exposure to vascular imaging techniques and actively participating in the performance and interpretation of:

• Ankle-brachial index (ABI) and pulse volume recordings (PVR) with exercise
• Arterial and venous Doppler assessments of the upper and lower extremities
• Doppler evaluations of the aorta, renal, mesenteric, and carotid/subclavian arteries
• CT and MR angiography

This training program is designed to equip fellows with the knowledge and skills necessary for evaluating and managing patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings.

As part of the fellowship, participants are expected to actively engage in:

• Quality Assessment Programs
• Morbidity and Mortality Conferences (M&M)
• Journal Club discussions
• Research initiatives and publications
• Presentations at national and international conferences (funded by the department)
