Location: Support Services
Condition of Work: 180 days/year - 7 hours/day
School Year 2026-2027 SUMMARY:
Under the direction of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), the Registered Behavior Technician is responsible for the implementation of behavior intervention plan for assigned student as developed by the IEP team, collecting data and conducting assessments. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Assist the Special Education Teacher, consistent with IEP or IFSP goals, in lesson plan implementation; one-on-one & small group instruction; classroom management; student observation & assessment; and communication with parents and staff.
• Collect data and report student progress.
• Maintain accurate data collection records.
• Communicate with staff and parents as instructed by the Special Education Teacher.
• Implement, assess, and evaluate implementation of student intervention plans and programs; provide input and feedback to teachers, parents, other appropriate team members and the Director.
• Implement positive behavior intervention systems.
• Manage crisis intervention by maintaining a safe, classroom environment for the students.
• Participate as a member of the education team. May attend parent conferences.
• Skill acquisition and behavior reduction, preparing student and staff materials as instructed and needed.
• Assist with the development and implementation of functional behavior assessments (FBA's) and Positive Behavior Support Plans (BIP's).
• Assist in the instruction of socially acceptable behavior, employing techniques such as behavior modification and positive reinforcement.
• Collect, record, and summarize data on observable student behavior in all aspects of measurement procedures.
• Utilize safe and appropriate crisis emergency procedures when working with students who are exhibiting aggressive or non-compliant behavior.
• Ability to accept constructive feedback, willingness to further develop knowledge and skill sets as necessary, and to take initiative when appropriate.
• Acquire and maintain technical knowledge by attending required training such as Safety Care.
• Effective time management skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks at one time.
• Maintain appropriate levels of confidentiality in all matters pertaining to students, parents, staff and program.

• A new employee is subject to a 180-day probationary period and must be evaluated prior to its end. If work is found to be unsatisfactory, the employee is subject to termination. QUALIFICATIONS:
• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent
• RBT Certification is required or willingness to become certified.
• Must have awareness of behavioral attributes related to behavioral disorders, autism, TBI and other behavioral complications
• Recent experience in a school setting
• Recent experience in working with students with challenging behaviors
• Recent experience implementing IEP's, FBA's and BIP's
• Proven ability to establish rapport and maintain strong productive relationships with students, colleagues and administrative personnel
• Excellent attendance and punctuality required
Preferred:
• Recent experience working with children ages 3-21 in a classroom or 1:1 setting
• Recent experience implementing procedures based upon the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis
Skills, Knowledge, and/or Abilities:
• Ability to work independently under the direction of a certified staff to achieve objectives
• Ability to set priorities, meet deadlines and schedules, deal with frequent interruptions, and work as part of a team.
• Strong interpersonal skills demonstrated through the ability to build trusting, collaborative relationships.
• Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills.

180-259 Day Employees- Paid leave benefits to include 10 sick days, 10 paid holidays, and 3 personal leave days.
260 Day Employee-Paid leave benefits to include a minimum of 12 sick days, 13 paid holiday and 3 personal leave days and a minimum of 10 days' vacation after the first year.
