Production Operator

Production Associate (1st / 2nd / 3rd Shift) This entry-level production role focuses on supporting manufacturing operations by changing over machines between products, performing weigh-up tasks, and handling packaging duties in the production department. You help ensure products meet quality standards, customer specifications, and delivery requirements while maintaining efficiency and following established policies and procedures. Will train on 1st shift for 4 weeks regardless of shift* Responsibilities Perform all required machine changeover cleaning to ensure efficient machine start-up between product runs. Obtain the correct batch documentation and verify that the appropriate ingredients are delivered to the work area. Retrieve ingredients for mixing as needed and accurately weigh ingredients according to recipe specifications. Set up and start weigh-up or packaging machinery, verifying that all controls comply with operating and safety procedures. Notify the appropriate personnel promptly about any issues, problems, or concerns that arise during production. Supply and support Production Operators with the correct materials and assistance to keep all equipment running efficiently. Complete and maintain all required paperwork and production documents accurately and on time. Follow and comply with all safety rules, work rules, and regulations throughout the shift. Maintain housekeeping standards in the department to keep the work area clean and organized. Perform other related duties as assigned to support production goals. Essential Skills Previous experience in production, packing, general labor, or a similar environment is helpful for success in this role. Mechanical aptitude and the ability to be mechanically inclined when working with machinery and equipment. Basic machine operation skills and willingness to learn additional equipment and processes. Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate ingredient measurements, documentation, and product quality. Consistent and reliable attendance to support production schedules and team performance. Openness to feedback and willingness to adjust work practices to meet quality and safety expectations. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, including batch documentation and safety procedures. Capability to work across different shifts, including training on first shift for 68 weeks before moving to assigned shift. Additional Skills & Qualifications Interest in learning more advanced machine operation and production processes over time. Comfort working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with changing priorities. Ability to collaborate with production operators, leads, and other team members. Work Environment This is a manufacturing and production facility environment that can be hot and dirty at times, requiring comfort working around industrial equipment and machinery. The role includes three shifts: first shift from 5:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., second shift from 1:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., and third shift from 9:30 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., with all new hires training on first shift for approximately 68 weeks. Shift differentials apply for second and third shifts. You will regularly work around weigh-up and packaging machinery, handle ingredients and materials, and follow safety and housekeeping standards throughout the facility. Dress expectations align with a typical manufacturing setting, where practical, safety-oriented attire and any required personal protective equipment are used. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Avon Lake, OH. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.
