Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN for a night shift position requiring a NJ or compact RN license and ACLS/BLS certification.

Details

• Work in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of a hospital setting
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 19:00-7:30)
• Epic charting system used, experience preferred but not required
• Unit accepts first-time travelers

Requirements

• Active NJ or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• Current certifications: ACLS and BLS required, NIHSS preferred
• Minimum 1.5 years of ICU experience required
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Experience managing patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
• Proficient in arterial line and central line care/management
• Experience with continuous IV sedation and titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips
• Skilled in BiPAP/CPAP management and care of ventilated patients
• Able to interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs)
• Experience with ETT and NT suctioning
• Knowledge of isolation precautions and PPE use

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive critical care nursing to ICU patients with complex, multisystem conditions
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for consideration
• Previous staff members must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
• No travel pairs or groups accepted
• RTO must be listed at time of submission and no more than 3 days will be auto-approved, with no RTO permitted during the first week of orientation
