Project Estimator

Project EstimatorOur success starts with an investment in and commitment to our people. The Project Estimator will report directly to the Director of Preconstruction. As Project Estimator, you'll be involved in all aspects of the construction process on a variety of projects from historic renovations and restorations to architecturally forward ground-up projects.Your main responsibilities will be to prepare budgets by studying specifications, reviewing drawings, negotiating contracts, and identifying all project costs for a variety of jobs. All while effectively communicating with architects, design professionals, subcontractors, and suppliers in order to obtain bids while qualifying all subcontractors and negotiating price.The role requires someone who desires to be challenged in the work that you do. We are committed to your success, because your success helps the company succeed.Key Role ResponsibilitiesUphold the core valuesAnalyze project proposals to evaluate and prepare requests for estimatesPrepare weekly bid calendar and ensures timely completion of estimatesReview estimates and revisions for completeness and accuracyAttend bid meetings and develop and execute bid strategyGather construction documents and review historical cost data to understand scope of work to bidExecute quantity surveys of construction documentsPrepare estimates in corporate softwareObtain pricing for materialsObtain bids from subcontractorsPrepare cost analysis in computer by recapitulating material, labor, equipment, subcontractor and overhead costs incurred in the installation of itemsMake an estimate where predetermined standards are not availableDevelop and maintain resource information on products, vendors, subcontractors, government requirements, etc.Attend departmental meetings as requiredBuild relationships with all partners (trade partners, owners, design teams, etc)Lead meetings as necessary for design-assist processesTrack and effectively communicate price fluctuations throughout design-assist processesRequirementsAt least three years of estimating experience in Commercial Building ConstructionWorking knowledge of construction estimating conceptsSkilled in reading and interpreting plans and specificationsHighly Desired Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related fieldHighly organizedAbility to juggle multiple projects at once & meet hard deadlines**Incomplete applications will not be reviewed.
