Cardiac Ultrasound Technologist 3, Full Time

The Cardiac Ultrasound Technologist 3 performs high-level Ultrasound procedures through the operation of complex ultrasound equipment to obtain highest quality of diagnostic images. The Cardiac Ultrasound Technologist 3 identifies areas or processes in need of improvement; develops plans of action; implements plans, and processes and documents results. The incumbent ensures compliance with prevailing requirements or practices, as well as with changes in JCAHO Standards, OSHA regulations, and/or various state or federal statutes.

CORE JOB FUNCTIONS

Searches for abnormalities in blood flow sounds, heart rhythm, oxygen saturation, and the appearance of the heart. Positions patients and explains procedures. Performs quality control functions. Evaluates ultrasounds for diagnostic quality. Prepares and sets up medical supplies using aseptic techniques. Develops ultrasound film and matches it with the appropriate paperwork for interpretation. Assists with the maintenance and compilation of statistical data. Provides training to new and student cardiac ultrasound technologists. Education: Associate degree in relevant field required Certification and Licensing: Refer to department description for applicable certification requirements Experience: Minimum 3 years of relevant experience required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Learning Agility: Ability to learn new procedures, technologies, and protocols, and adapt to changing priorities and work demands.
