QC Chemist – Temporary AssignmentA growing manufacturing organization is seeking a detail-oriented QC Chemist to support its Quality Control laboratory during a temporary coverage period. This individual will play a key role in performing routine analytical testing, preparing samples, documenting results, and supporting day-to-day laboratory operations in a fast-paced production environment.This is an excellent opportunity for an analytical chemist looking to gain hands-on experience in a regulated manufacturing setting or for an experienced QC professional seeking flexible contract work.ResponsibilitiesPrepare and analyze samples using a range of analytical instrumentation, including Gas Chromatography (GC), High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC), and Ion Chromatography (IC) and/or IC-MSPerform routine quality control testing in strict accordance with laboratory SOPs and established methodsConduct thorough data review, documentation, and accurate entry of analytical results into laboratory systemsInterpret and evaluate test results against established specifications; escalate out-of-specification (OOS) or out-of-trend (OOT) results appropriatelySupport troubleshooting, routine maintenance, and basic instrument qualification activities as neededEnsure full compliance with laboratory safety standards, quality procedures, and GMP/GLP requirementsCollaborate with QC team members to maintain testing schedules, meet turnaround times, and support production release timelinesAssist with preparation and review of batch records, test reports, and other quality documentation as requiredRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related scientific discipline1–3 years of hands-on analytical laboratory experienceProficiency with GC and HPLC instrumentation, including method execution and basic troubleshootingStrong attention to detail with excellent documentation and data integrity practicesAbility to work independently with minimal supervision in a production-driven environmentStrong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasksPreferred QualificationsExperience with Ion Chromatography (IC), IC-MS, Karl Fischer (KF) titration, or other analytical techniquesPrior experience in a quality control or production-support laboratory roleBackground in pharmaceutical, chemical, food/beverage, or other regulated manufacturing environmentsFamiliarity with LIMS or electronic laboratory notebook (ELN) systemsWorking knowledge of GMP/GLP principles and regulatory compliance expectationsJob Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Hayward, CA.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
