Plumbing Engineer/Designer

About the Role We’re looking for a Plumbing Engineer/Designer who can own design, collaborate in a technology driven BIM environment, and support projects through construction in multifamily and mixed-use buildings. What You’ll Do Plumbing & Fire Protection Design Design domestic water, storm drainage, sanitary waste and vent, and natural gas distribution systems Size, select, schedule, and specify plumbing components including fixtures, specialties, and equipment Support fire protection design (including pumps, standpipes, and specialty systems) Produce clear, coordinated documentation for new construction and renovations Multifamily & Mixed-Use Project Delivery Lead plumbing design for a range of building types, including: High-rise and mid-rise apartments (including towers requiring complex riser strategies) Garden-style and low-rise communities with repeatable unit stacks and phased construction Student housing with high fixture density and durability-focused specifications Luxury multifamily with extensive amenity areas (pools, fitness, club rooms, rooftop/terrace programs) Mixed-use buildings that combine residential with retail, restaurant and other street-level uses Podium and garage-wrap configurations that add coordination complexity across levels and occupancies Coordinate plumbing systems in a real-time Revit/BIM workflow alongside mechanical, electrical, structural, and architectural teams Contribute to practical, code-aligned solutions for the hard parts of these buildings – tight shafts, repetitive stacks, equipment room constraints, and fast schedules Construction Support Support construction administration including submittal reviews, RFI responses, field observations, and documentation updates Travel for job site visits and building surveys as required Required Qualifications Strong working proficiency in Revit (plumbing design within a BIM workflow) Solid understanding of plumbing codes and how systems interact in dense, multidisciplinary projects Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline (or equivalent experience, if applicable) AutoCAD proficiency (Revit is primary; AutoCAD may be used for specific deliverables) Preferred Qualifications EIT or P.E. license (or clear path toward licensure) ASPE CPD certification Benefits Growth & Development JSE University In-house seminars & technical training Lunch & Learns Encouragement and support for professional licensure Paid time off for FE and PE exam study preparation Financial assistance toward educational development Helping You Maintain Balance Teleworking options PTO (Flexible Time Off Policy) Paid holidays (8) Paid time for employee’s birthday policy Paid bereavement leave Fitness incentive program Wellness programs Booster programs Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Financial 401(k) plan with competitive employer match Discretionary bonuses 3 times per year Flexible spending accounts (FSA) Health savings accounts (HSA) and employer contributions Financial seminars Bonus for passing the FE exam and first-time passing the PE exam Competitive compensation Insurance Company-paid life and AD&D insurance Health insurance Company-paid employee vision & dental insurance Company-paid short-term disability Company-paid long-term disability Voluntary plans (Critical Illness/Cancer, Accident) Equal Opportunity Jordan & Skala Engineers is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
