Registered Nurse - Ambulatory Care/Clinic/Outpatient

Job Description

Job Summary:
Provide safe, compassionate, and age-appropriate nursing care to pediatric patients in an ambulatory care outpatient clinic setting. The nurse will perform assessments, administer medications, and support patient and family education to promote optimal health outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Assess pediatric patients' conditions, including infants, children, and adolescents, and identify any changes requiring intervention.
• Administer medications, including weight-based dosing and vaccines, monitoring for adverse reactions.
• Perform triage to prioritize patient care based on presenting symptoms and acuity levels.
• Educate patients and families on health conditions, treatment plans, and preventive measures.
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient education accurately in electronic health records.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate follow-up care, referrals, and diagnostic testing.

Qualifications:

• Hold a valid New York State RN license and primary source verification of licensure.
• Minimum of 2 years of Med/Surg or outpatient pediatric nursing experience.
• Demonstrate proficiency in pediatric assessment, medication administration, and immunizations.
• Possess IV insertion and phlebotomy skills.
• Maintain current BLS certification; ACLS preferred.
• Strong communication, clinical judgment, and infection control knowledge.
