Treatment Coordinator

A medical practice in Fairfax is looking to add a treatment / patient care coordinator to their team. This office is a small family-run organization that has been in business for over a decade and provides a good work life balance. This person will will serve as a point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service, managing issuance coordination appointments, and assisting with administrative tasks to ensure the smooth operation of the practice. Key Responsibilities: Insurance Verification and Authorization: Verify patient insurance coverage and obtain necessary authorizations for medical procedures or services. Assist patients in understanding their insurance benefits and financial responsibilities. Advocate for patients' needs and concerns, ensuring their voices are heard and respected throughout the healthcare journey. Collaborate with healthcare providers to address patient questions, issues, and requests promptly. Coordination of Care: Schedule and coordinate patient appointments, consultations, and follow-up visits. Facilitate communication between healthcare providers, specialists, and other relevant staff to ensure comprehensive and integrated care. Provide patients with information about their diagnoses, treatment plans, and available resources. Educate patients on self-care practices and empower them to actively participate in their healthcare. Administrative Support: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, ensuring compliance with privacy regulations. Handle administrative tasks, such as billing inquiries, medical records requests, and documentation. Communication and Collaboration: Foster effective communication and collaboration among healthcare team members to optimize patient care. Serve as a point of contact for patients, addressing inquiries and providing information in a clear and empathetic manner. Quality Improvement: Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of patient care processes. Provide feedback on areas for improvement and contribute to the development of best practices. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in healthcare administration is a plus. Experience being a liaison with insurance companies and patients Previous experience as a patient care coordinator or in a similar role is preferred. Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
