Accountant

Job Title: Staff Accountant Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00 AM- 5:00 PM
Department: Accounting Type: Full Time, Salary Exempt Working closely with the Accounting Manager, this position supports a wide range of accounting and financial reporting activities—both day-to-day and specialized.

Responsibilities:

• Reconcile balance sheets monthly to ensure accurate and complete records.
• Assist with all aspects of accounting operations and preparation of annual financial budgets, monthly financial statements, and other accounting reports and projects.
• Prepare, review, upload, and post journal entries.
• Manage fixed assets, tracking approval, and classification.
• Participate in the month-end close process; perform monthly duties assigned to facilitate timely close, including reporting.
• Responsible for the Worker’s Compensation monthly calculation for accrual purposes.
• Create and provide reporting tools on a monthly, annual, and as needed basis.
• Identify and develop reporting and help establish and track key metrics.
• Ability to work proactively, prioritize tasks and to manage time effectively.
• Perform additional responsibilities and complete projects as needed.

Skills/Qualifications:

• 4+ years of experience within the accounting field.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or relevant field.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel (pivots, lookups, etc.).
• Knowledge of accounting principles/practices, internal controls, and relevant laws and regulations.
• Strong attention to detail and a desire to assume new responsibilities.
• Ability to handle confidential information in a professional manner.
• Punctual, regular, and consistent attendance, and ability to work overtime, nights and weekends if needed.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and responsive to feedback.

• Must be able to read, speak, and write in English.
