Nursing Clinical Coordinator

This position is responsible for providing clinical administrative support and assistance; assists with or accomplishes specific tasks, activities, and responsibilities; coordinates and secures clinical placements within both clinical management platforms, and sites outside the platforms; coordinates maintenance and clinical compliance of student and faculty records; assists in the orientation of new full-time and adjunct clinical faculty; provides support to clinical faculty with both clinical management platforms, and for sites outside platforms; and provides program and curriculum support by assisting the Chief Nursing Program Director and Associate Program Director with other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education/Experience: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing with current enrollment in a Master's in Nursing program (must complete 6 credit hours each fall and spring semester until degree completion) Minimum (2) years' full-time equivalent experience as a Registered Nurse in a clinical setting. Holds an active, unencumbered license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Oklahoma.

Physical Demands/Working Conditions - PHYSICALANDMENTALDEMANDS The work is light work which requires the person in this position to occasionally exert up to 20 pounds of force to grasp, lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. This position requires the person to frequently position self to work with classroom and lab equipment to instruct or assist students and patients. This position requires the person to judge, observe and assess the accuracy, neatness, thoroughness of work assigned or to make general observations. Work is performed in a relatively safe and secure indoor classroom, office, or lab area. May be exposed to infectious diseases. Occasionally required to function around prisoners, mental patients, or agitated, hostile patients. Required institutional activities (other than attendance at commencement/pinning ceremonies) usually occur in the classic eight-to-five Monday through Friday work week; other activities may include online work and work during days, nights, and/or weekends; hours may vary from semester to semester but will generally consist of a combination of morning, afternoon and evening classes.

Preferred Qualifications - Master's degree in Nursing

Required Training - Quarterly compliance training as assigned by the institution.

Job Duties (Position Specific) - Works with the Chief Nursing Program Director and Nursing Program Associate Director to plan and manage lab and clinical experiences for students; ensures with the NPADto identify and pair students to sites and units for clinical experiences; ensures student compliance via clinical management platforms, NESA and non-NESA facilities in accordance to Program and facility policies and faculty clinical management platforms, NESA and non-NESA facilities and faculty files in accordance to Program and facility policies; manages lab and clinical rotations for students; negotiates clinical conflicts for sites; monitors approval and denial of clinical sites via tracking process; plans and tracks clinical site need for students; performs full-time faculty and PR academic set up in the clinical management platform; and provides training in processes and software for clinical attendance and rotations. Plans and conducts clinical site visits individually and with faculty for clinical quality assurance, clinical site visits to monitor quality assurance for clinical instructors (full- and part-time), and clinical site visits for student progress in the clinical setting; is available to faculty by phone during active clinical rotations and serves as backup coverage for clinical or lab when replacement instructors cannot be secured; serves as day-to-day liaison with clinical facility partners; receives and documents facility-reported student or faculty concerns and escalates to the Nursing Associate Program Director as appropriate. Modifies/adapts/plans clinical compliance changes for clinical sites; assists drafting policy and procedures with the Nursing program Associate Director; assists with updating materials related to clinical requirements; sets up Nursing Education Service Administration (NESA) exam and updates this compliance in clinical management platform; updates clinical management platform instructions/tip sheets and clinical onboarding documents for each NESA and non-NESA clinical facility; notifies team leaders, full-time and PR academic faculty of clinical site changes, updates, etc.; chairs/co-chairs Nursing Clinical and Lab/Simulation committee; attends and actively participates in the NESA Committee, NFO, Advisory, Admissions and other leadership meetings. Speaks with prospective students; attends new student orientations and reviews expectations including dress code for labs and clinics. Provides oversight of clinical; assists team leaders to resolves any staffing openings and/or needs for clinical/lab; evaluates clinical/skills lab; and submits related documentation. Assists in the orientation of new full-time and adjunct clinical faculty related to lab and clinical roles, clinical management platforms, NESA, and non-NESA facilities, and clinical assignment grading, Moodle, and SimChart; helps with supervision, as needed, and evaluation of lab and clinical faculty (full-time and PR academics); provides orientation, training, mentoring, observation as needed, and support of clinical faculty. Assist with reviewing faculty syllabus and gives feedback as needed; assists with maintenance and compliance of faculty records to ensure currency in the following areas: Hold an active, unencumbered, license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Oklahoma; CPR certification health records as specified by clinical agencies/College; background/drug screening as specified by clinical agencies/College Liability Insurance; Faculty Qualification Records; curriculum vitae; and continuing education activities. Ensures students are prepared for lab and clinical experience related to compliance and academic preparation; identifies and pairs clinical sites for all students. Coordinates maintenance and clinical compliance of student records to ensure currency in the following areas: required immunization health records; CPR certification health records as specified by clinical agencies/College; background drug screening as specified by clinical agencies/College Liability Insurance; sexual harassment; required facility documents and orientation material, and NESA exam requirements. Maintains student lab and clinical records; plans and implements processes and procedures for clinical placement and tracking; reviews and analyzes processes on a routine basis for necessary modifications for student and Program success. Chairs/co-chairs one of the nursing committees of the Nursing Faculty Organization; assists with development and maintenance of the Systematic Program Evaluation Plan (SPEP) related to lab and clinical experiences; provides oversight for requesting, obtaining, and evaluating the Program's clinical experiences; and participates in NESA meetings/organizational activities and Hospital/clinical facilities Advisory meetings/organization activities, including negotiations for clinical sites and contacts with non-NESA sites such as hospitals and long-term care facilities. Troubleshoots any issues assigned faculty or students are having with clinical management platforms. Assists with collecting, trending, and providing guidance for use of the SPEP related to labs and clinical experiences, with curriculum review and development related to
