Field Service Technician

Payrate: $29.00 - $31.00/hr.


Summary:
This position involves providing technical support and service for FTNA systems in the field. The role requires a blend of mechanical and electrical expertise, with responsibilities including troubleshooting, debugging, and assisting with system commissioning and warranty phases. The candidate will represent the company in front of railcar builders and occasionally transit authorities, ensuring systems are functioning according to manufacturer's guidelines.


Responsibilities

• Understand and apply the manufacturer's procedures and guidelines thoroughly.
• Act as the company's representative in front of the railcar builder.
• Assist the railcar builder and occasionally the transit authority with debugging and troubleshooting the FTNA systems as per contractual agreements.
• Support the railcar builder during the car commissioning and warranty phases by providing technical assistance for FTNA systems at various locations.
• Troubleshoot both mechanical and electrical problems on the FTNA systems.
• Confirm issues identified by the railcar builder.

Qualifications

• High School diploma is required.
• Technical certification(s) are an asset.
• At least 5 years of experience working as a technician or equivalent.

Skills

• Technical competence in both electrical and mechanical systems.
• Experience in Mass Transit or Rail is valuable.
• Strong knowledge of PCs and laptops, especially MS Excel.
• Ability to troubleshoot using a laptop as a tool.
• Ability to perform software downloads.
• Strong mechanical aptitudes.
• Integrity, honesty, and accountability.
• Ability to work unsupervised in transit authority locations.

Pay Transparency: The typical base pay for this role across the U.S. is: $29.00 - $31.00 /hour . Non-exempt positions are eligible for overtime at a rate of 1.5 times the base hourly rate for all hours worked in excess of 40 in a work week, or as required by state or local law. Final offer amounts, within the base pay set forth above, are determined by factors including your relevant skills, education and experience. Full-time employees are eligible to select from different benefits packages.
