Description

Summary: Maintains air conditional, heating, electricity and plumbing for Bethany Home Association properties. Maintains appliances in the kitchen and laundry departments.

Responsibilities:

• Does preventative maintenance on all equipment.
• Inspects building and equipment to determine need and extent of service.
• Installs machinery and equipment according to specifications.
• Takes call on a scheduled basis.
• Provides maintenance assistance as needed.
• Prioritizes tasks under the supervision of Environmental Services Director.
• Attends and completes training as assigned.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent. Certificate from vocational school or related on job training, experience and apprenticeship.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, benefits, repair and maintenance; knowledge and ability to do limited welding, make repairs and work on plumbing systems, electrical systems, alarm systems, household and commercial appliances; ability to read and understand specifications, plans and standards and safety requirements; knowledge of and ability to apply current federal and state regulations, policies and procedures; ability to organize, communicate, and perform the essential tasks and duties of the department; ability to consider alternatives and make decisions; ability to handle confidential information; ability to work well with people including staff, residents, families and community; ability to follow requests.
