Administrative Team Lead | Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)

Overview: This leadership role blends administrative expertise with clinical patient care responsibilities in a busy gastroenterology practice. The ideal candidate will coordinate front office operations while providing compassionate, hands-on support to patients under physician supervision. Administrative Responsibilities:
This position operates within a regional healthcare setting in the Midwest, offering a supportive environment for professional growth and patient-centered care.
- Manage daily operations of secretarial, receptionist, and medical assistant staff across multiple locations.
- Oversee scheduling, staffing, training, and performance reviews in collaboration with practice leadership.
- Serve as departmental representative in public relations, committees, and educational initiatives.
- Maintain office equipment and ensure a safe, efficient work environment.
- Prepare and maintain departmental records, reports, policies, and procedures.
- Provide direct patient care and triage, including vital signs, history taking, and patient education.
- Assist physicians with minor procedures, testing, and treatment protocols.
- Manage medical records, documentation, and electronic billing entries accurately.
- Coordinate patient testing, referrals, and follow-up communications.
- Administer laboratory tests and maintain lab logs as required.
- Associate degree or equivalent required; candidates pursuing a bachelor's degree with at least two years completed coursework may be considered.
- Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) program required or enrollment within one year of hire with completion within three years.
- Minimum of five years' experience in secretary, receptionist, or medical assistant roles.
