Job Description
Cath Lab Registered Nurse (RN) - Cardiology

The Cath Lab Registered Nurse is responsible for coordinating comprehensive nursing care for patients undergoing both invasive and non-invasive cardiac procedures. This role involves active participation in patient and family education while providing leadership and collaborating with team members and various disciplines to uphold professional nursing standards in a clinical environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide total nursing care for patients undergoing cardiac procedures.
• Engage in patient and family teaching to ensure understanding of care plans and procedures.
• Work collaboratively with healthcare team members to maintain high standards of nursing practice.

Qualifications

• Education: Associate degree in nursing required.
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years nursing experience required, with at least 1 year in a Cath Lab or similar setting.
• Certifications:
  
  
  • AHA BLS certification required.
  • NIH or Red Cross certification required.
• Licenses:
  
  
  • Current Registered Nurse license in the State of Alabama or a Compact license required (no temporary licenses accepted).

Work Schedule

• Four 10-hour shifts per week; start and end times will be determined by the employer.
• Weekend on-call responsibilities every 6 weeks, with a response time of 20 minutes required.
• Availability for potential late shifts during the week.
• Standard 30-minute lunch break.

Additional Information

• Experience working independently in Cath Lab procedure rooms for a minimum of one year is mandatory.
