Staff Lease Accountant - Transactions

Job Summary This position is an essential role of the lease transactions team at the Business Services Center (BSC) for our Americas and Airports Segments. The Lease Accountant will need to abstract, interpret, and analyze information on leases, amendments, assignments, and other legal documents in accordance with departmental procedures, determine appropriate calculation methods for charges, perform general ledger posting, and submit work product for approvals as required by department policy while working independently. Job Responsibilities Interpret, analyze leases, amendments, and other related legal documents and make sound interpretations and judgments based on given data using established policies & procedures. Create, enter, update, and maintain lease, panel, lessor/payee and payment information in the system according to the mandatory policies. Process all percentage & base rent payments, including producing, analyzing and communicating contractual obligations to branches. Provide quality customer service to lessors and branch associates, handling inquiries on payment status, notifications of address changes, and requests for information. Communicate effectively with supervisors and managers when issues arise regarding procedures or customer service relations. Suggest resolutions to issues that arise and work to resolve them. Ensure documentation is consistently and continuously updated as part of best practice in maintaining documentation. Perform other duties as assigned. Job Qualifications Education and Certifications – Associate degree in business preferred; related education, training, work experience, or military experience may be considered. Work Experience – Minimum 1 year of accounts payable or transactional experience. Skills – Working knowledge of general accounting principles; willingness to learn lease accounting concepts and related processes; proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Physical Demands Employees must have the ability to sit and/or stand at a desk for a minimum of 8 hours a day, complete tasks requiring repetitive use of hands, see written documents and computer screens, and work in a temperature‑controlled office environment.
